Another year over and my gold subscription has turned silver. A few years ago i actually renewed my subscriptions immediately but at this time i dont have a desire for it.
Its not a big deal for me because i have to work on my backlog of games anyway. Also i save some money by doing so. Its not that i have to save for the sake of being totally broke or something its more my opinion and attitude towards certain aspects of gaming nowadays.
The more and more gamers buy digital stuff, the more they have to know that a digital only future is coming.Also the whole DLC thing is blown out of proportion. To my understanding almost 85% of DLC buyers, are buying them only for Achievements, the rest for the sake of it.
I can live with a game being 1k even if additional DLC pumps up the numbers significantly. Achievements are nice but in the end when it comes down to real life, this score means absolutely nothing.
Also i think i am not some sort of collector anymore, or to be more specific, i am selling all those games i have finished or games i probably will never play anyhow. For example Perfect Dark Zero, i sold it and i actually never played it.
There are many gamers who have tons of games, new ones and then they browse their library and they are bored. A typical conversation over Xbox live goes like this
"Devil May Cry, Resident Evil 6 yeah iam gonna sell Resident Evil at Gamestop, i wanna get Crysis 3. Man AlienColonial Marines suck i am gonna sell it. Yeah i have to finish Far Cry 3 anyway......"
Those are the moments when even i think that some gamers are just utterly retarded moron people with first world super spaz problems. Because they simply cannot enjoy gaming anymore.
I play a lot of games, review wise, but even then i am not as retarded as those kinda gamers. I enjoy games for what they are, everything else would be a total waste of life time.
Of course you can totally play for gamer score only but in the end you will miss a lot of opportunities to enjoy a game just for the sake of it.
